Equipping hotels’ utility systems with hypoallergenic cartridge filter housings could be a step towards claiming the ECARF Seal of Quality.
One conference centre in Worcestershire became the world’s first venue of its kind to receive the accolade in November, after creating eight allergy-free bedrooms for attending delegates.
Cotswold Conference Centre created the rooms and adopted a range of other hypoallergenic procedures in the run-up to Indoor Allergy Week 2011, which took place in mid-November.
The rooms feature wooden floors and blinds, rather than carpet and curtains, with special filtration of 99.9% of particles in the vacuum cleaners used there.
Conferences can be a headache for allergy sufferers, who are confined to meeting rooms and bedrooms with little chance to escape,” says Professor Torsten Zuberbier, allergy expert at the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation.
Our cartridge filter housings can ensure no allergens are introduced into a process, with polypropylene cartridges for non-aggressive fluid filtration.
We can also supply PTFE-coated cartridge filter housings for use in pharmaceutical processes, where any unwanted contamination could have critical consequences.
